Home Items You Should Wait Until Black Friday To Shop For

While Black Friday is traditionally considered the unofficial beginning of the holiday shopping season, it’s also a great time to be a little selfish and buy some of the things you have on your own wish list.

Although the Friday after Thanksgiving brings deals galore for many of the items you’ll be buying to fill your loved ones’ stockings, there are also plenty of big-ticket household staples that regularly go on sale during this retail holiday, making it prime time to get the best deal on some of the most popular products.

Here are some of the home items you should be on the lookout for this Black Friday.

Home Tech

Smart speakers, smart thermostats, smart lights, smart doorbells – pretty much anything you put in your home that has the word “smart” in the name is likely going to see some good sales around Black Friday.

Amazon in particular is known for offering great Black Friday deals on its own Amazon brand tech, so if you’re looking to get started with a voice assistant, you might consider placing an order for an Alexa-enabled device such as the Echo Dot speaker or the Echo Show smart display.

Of course, Amazon won’t be the only one offering deals on home tech, so be sure to shop around to find the best deals with the brands you prefer. Google Home and Google Nest products will have some good deals as well, for example.

Black Friday might just be the perfect time to turn your dream home theater into a reality. With big TVs, streaming devices and even DVDs and Blu-rays all typically seeing significant discounts during Black Friday sales, you’ll be able to create the ultimate in-home destination for curling up to a movie or marathoning your favorite Netflix series.

TVs especially tend to be heavily discounted during the Black Friday rush. If you’ve been wanting a larger screen, higher definition or a smart TV to replace your old model, now is the time. Just be sure you’re buying a quality model.

Streaming devices like the Roku or Amazon Fire Stick will also likely see some good deals.

If you need a new laptop or smartphone, this would be a good time to look for bargains. Though the newest models likely won’t see significant discounts, you might find some really great deals with previous years’ models.

It’s easy to drop a pretty penny on a vacuum cleaner worth its salt, but if you time your purchase just right, you may not have to.

As it turns out, Black Friday is a great time to get a significant discount on some of the best vacuums on the market. This year, not only will Dyson and Shark have some deals that really don’t suck, but you’ll also be able to find some great sale prices on robotic vacuums like the Roomba.

Popular kitchen items both big and small will be on sale for Black Friday, and for savvy home goods shoppers who have been waiting to stumble upon a substantial discount of some of the big-ticket items they need, Black Friday is a good time to go looking for those deals.

Smaller items like blenders, toasters, slow cookers, microwaves and the like will be available at nicely discounted prices, which is great for those looking to replace their current models or try out a pricier brand that would normally be out of their price range. You may also be able to find some good quality cookware sets available at a discount during this time.

You’ll also see up to 40% off on lots of big appliances from many of the major retailers, including Lowe’s, Home Depot and Best Buy. If you need a new refrigerator, washer and dryer set, stove or dishwasher, you can save a lot of money by waiting until Black Friday to shop for these items.

Was your last home improvement project halted because you realized halfway through that you didn’t have the correct tools to complete the job? Those who need to stock up on basic tool sets or are looking to upgrade what they’ve currently got in their power tool inventory should take advantage of Black Friday, as many home improvement stores offer great deals for holiday shoppers around this time.

Home improvement shoppers should see sales on everything from drill kits to power saws. You’ll likely see some decent buy-one-get-one deals as well.

Gaming Items

Black Friday offers plenty of great deals for gamers who are looking to update their home gaming setup just in time for the holidays.

Some of the best deals will be with gaming console bundles, so if you’ve been thinking of purchasing a new console, look for bundles that come with a game or certain accessories included to get the most bang for your buck.

If you’re just looking for a lone console, you can generally get a pretty good deal around this time, as long as it’s not a model that’s just been released. Some of the most popular games will also be discounted by as much as 50%.

Gaming laptops and PCs will also see some attractive deals.

Make Sure You’re Really Saving

Whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else, remember that the savings are only good if you actually put the purchase to use. Try to avoid impulse purchases that you’ll just end up regretting.

And after all the hectic Black Friday shopping is over, consider taking the next day to support your community and do some local shopping for Small Business Saturday.
