The preferred means of transportation in this community is usually driving. The majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Interstate 495, and accessing a place to park is generally easy. In contrast, public transit users may have few choices in McLean as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, there is West Falls Church Station, Spring Hill Station and Tysons Corner Station on the Orange Line and Silver Line. The community is connected by about 20 bus lines, and most residences are close to a bus stop. McLean is not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot because few common errands can be run without the use of a car.
