The preferred way to navigate Mid County is very often a car. Nearby highways, such as Interstate 64, are reasonably easy to reach from any home in this community, and it is very convenient to come across a place to park. However, the public transit service in Mid County is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there is the Sunnen Station, Clayton Station and University City-Big Bend Station on the Blue Line. There are around 20 bus lines passing through the community, and the nearest bus stop is generally close by. Traveling by foot in Mid County is not very popular, although many daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle.
It is easy to access the nearest supermarket by walking in this part of the city. Residents are served by over 700 restaurants and coffee shops as well. Concerning education, it is a reasonably short walk to get to primary schools from most houses for sale in this area. On the other hand, there are only a limited number of high schools and thus they can be a long walk away. Residents have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level.
The character of Mid County is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. It is easy to reach public green spaces from numerous locations in the community and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to enjoy. The noise levels in this part of the city are also low, as the streets are generally reasonably peaceful - although that is not the case near Interstate 270, US Highway 40 or one of the railway lines.
About three quarters of the population of this community own their home and one quarter are renters. In this area, around 70% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings.
